A new barn roof and 7 new puppies

We took a break from the fields to start re-roofing the small barn before the weather turns and the winds pick up.

While replacing the metal sheets we took the opportunity to replace a lot of the posts and rafters as the old ones were well over 50 years old. Some had been quite badly damaged by the bulls that have been housed in the barn over the years.

Just the 6.5km of strimming…

After a hard days work in the pouring rain the site is looking much tidier. Letting the thistles and weeds get so big made the job incredibly hard we certainly wont be letting it get that bad again.

We also learnt it’s pretty difficult to see through safety goggles when they’re covered in debris and rain, unfortunately we didn’t get any pictures of how covered in muck we were.

A much improved site

In need of a good tidy up

It’s been a busy few months and that’s meant we haven’t been able to get out and keep the thiustles and weeds under control.

The site is currently a little embarrassing – luckily nobody else can see it!
